Averill's Ranch, Flathead Lake Lodge is unique in its location; a Montana mountain dude ranch nestled in a private bay on the largest fresh water lake in the west.

Flathead Lake measures 28 miles long and 15 miles wide at its largest points. Rated as one of the cleanest large lakes in the world, Flathead Lake offers a wide array of sport fishing, boating, sailing, and water skiing. The lake is named after the Flathead Indians who originally inhabited the area. Lodging at our ranch offers spectacular vistas of this grand lake.

As remote as it sounds, Flathead Lake Lodge is actually quite easy to get to for your dude ranch vacation. Glacier Park International Airport (FCA), located 30 minutes from the ranch, offers daily flights on:

• Delta
• Northwest Airlines
• Horizon/Alaska Airlines
• United Airlines

Shuttles service is available to and from the ranch for $130 per family round trip or $70 per person.

Rental cars are available at the airport in Kalispell. Flathead Lake Lodge has limited rental cars available. We recommend renting a vehicle if you plan on a trip to Glacier National Park or other sight-seeing and hiking trips. Shuttle service is available for $100 per family round trip, or $50 per person from Glacier Park International Airport.

Driving to the ranch is a scenic event. Located just off Montana Highway 35, 15 miles south of Kalispell on northeast corner of Flathead Lake, the dude ranch is easily accessible.

Amtrak offers train service to Whitefish, Montana located 45 minutes from the guest ranch. Shuttle service is available to and from the train station at $130 per family or $70 per person.

If you have your own plane, there are a number of small landing strips available in the area.
