Children's Horseback Rides

Children's horseback rides take place several times throughout the day. Children 6 and older may ride their own horse on the Montana mountain trails with one of our experienced wranglers, who have a way with both children and horses and are always available for companionship.

On Saturday mornings, the kids show off their horse savvy, in the Children's Rodeo.

Junior Wranglers
Kids can become "Junior Wranglers" while at the ranch. They'll learn about saddling, horse care, grooming and barn duties throughout the week. "Junior Wranglers" are able to partake in the daily operation of a working stable. Scooping poop is one of the favorite chores at the barn.

Kids Overnight Camp
Kid's (6-12) have the opportunity to spend a night in authentic teepees on our dude ranch property. At the camp, kids enjoy roasting marshmallows, children's games and ghost stories, accompanied by members of the guest ranch staff.

Arts & Crafts
Our Arts and Crafts staff hosts children's activities throughout the day that are sure to please the kids. Children meet for the scheduled activity at the Arts & Crafts room, located adjacent to the stables. Projects are imaginative, creative and fun for children of all ages. Adults are welcome to join in too!

Other Activities
There are a variety of other activities for the children including; swimming, boating, water skiing, tennis, volleyball, fishing and more. Under 6
Each day after the trail riders head off, children under 6 will be given special attention at the stables. Arts & Crafts projects are scheduled to coinside with trail rides.

Childcare is available for young children as well. All of our childcare providers attend a babysitter’s class administered by the local health center. The babysitters are familiar with the dude ranch grounds, safety procedures and staff. Private babysitters are not included in the ranch weekly rates.

Our children's program is for any
child old enough to participate in
organized, group activities.
