Explore Montana

While our private 2,000 acres of terrain makes it feel like our Montana dude ranch is far from town, we’re really just a stone’s throw away. Here at Flathead Lake Lodge, we get the best of both worlds—easy access to urban offerings and a ranch stay that’s well-rounded in Montana history and heritage. Plus, our private and safe property encourages freedom and gives guests room to roam, while making it easy to access nearby offerings like Glacier National Park, Bigfork and the National Bison Range.

Flathead Lake

The Ranch is unique in its location; a Montana mountain dude ranch nestled in a private bay on the largest natural fresh water lake in the west offering an unparalleled experience both in the mountains and on the water. Flathead Lake sits in the heart of the Flathead Valley, just west of the Continental Divide, and is ringed by the Swan, Salish, Mission, and Whitefish ranges of the Rocky Mountains.

National Bison Range

Located 90 minutes south of Flathead Lake Lodge and Bigfork, the National Bison Range gives lodge guests the opportunity to drive through its 18,500 acres for a chance to see wildlife, including bison, elk, deer, antelope and black bear, as well as more than 200 species of birds. It’s well-worth the scenic drive.

Glacier National Park

A 45-minute drive from Flathead Lake Lodge, Glacier National Park is one of the most beautiful places in the world. Home to more than 1 million acres of glacial-carved terrain, the Crown of the Continent has incredible scenery, wildlife-watching opportunities and guided tours that share the history of this place.

Bigfork

Just up the road from the lodge, the charming Western village of Bigfork sits on the bay of Flathead Lake Lodge and has one of the quaintest downtowns in the West. Take time to walk its main street and visit fine art galleries, restaurants, watering holes and unique shops.
