Montana’s Flathead Lake

From our location on the shores of Flathead Lake, we have a front-row view of the largest natural freshwater lake in the West. Spanning nearly 30 miles in length and nearly 16 miles across, Flathead Lake is one of the ranch’s much-loved playgrounds.

The beach on Flathead Lake is a popular gathering spot in the afternoons, while Captain Scott regularly takes guests on sailing excursions. Additional on-the-lake recreation includes lake cruises, canoe races, swimming and watersports. As part of your all-inclusive dude ranch vacation package as a guest at the lodge, you have access to sailboats, stand-up paddleboards and more for individual lake adventures on one of the cleanest freshwater lakes in the world.

Activities

Sailing

There are a variety of sailboats to choose from at the ranch. The smallest sailboat is 14 feet with our largest being our 27-foot Olympic Class Solings. Also available at the ranch are two historic 51′ Q-class racing sloops, the Questa and the Nor ‘Easter. Q-boats were built in 1928 and 1929 as prototypes for Americas Cup boats. Our sailing staff can take you on Flathead Lake for 1-2 hour sails, aboard these majestic sailboats.

Lake Cruises

Lake cruises take place several times each week for sightseeing around the Flathead Lake. Take in the stunning Mission Mountains, or watch bald eagles and osprey dive for fish as you cruise in one of the ranch’s two classic cruisers.

Water Sports

Every afternoon our ski boats pull water skiers and wakeboarders off the dock. This is a great opportunity for experienced or first timers to try their hand at these water activities. Plus, we provide water skis, wakeboards, surf boards and life jackets for children and adults.

Lakeside Heated Pool

Our lakeside heated pool is always a popular place at the ranch. Our pool is centrally located and a great place to watch your kids water ski, read a favorite book or relax by the lake.

Canoes, Kayaks, SUP's

In addition to our guided water fun, we have canoes, kayaks and stand-up paddleboards available for individual use, making it easy for you to experience the waters and beautiful shorelines of Flathead Lake.

Fishing

Whether it’s fishing with the kids in the pond or dropping a line in the big lake, fishing opportunities abound. There’s a number of guides available for both lake and river fishing.
